Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Being Rolled Out to International Samsung S4 Active

About a month ago, AT&T Samsung Galaxy S4 Active customers started getting the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update. After awhile though Samsung and AT&T decided to pull the update until potential improvements were put into place.  We haven’t heard anything from either Samsung or the folks over at AT&T about when the update will be put back into place. While Samsung gets the AT&T Galaxy S4 Active software straightened out, they are looking to take a chance on the International version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active.

Samsung is rolling out Android 4.4.2 Kitkat to the International version of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active (GT-I9295). Now the rollout of this software update seems to be starting in the Netherlands, but the update should start rolling out to other countries eventually.  Android 4.4.2 brings customers much better device performance along with better battery life on the device. You will also see user interface changes, such as the status bar icon colors being changed to white. Also, users get easier camera controls and music controls on their device. No no word on an official timeline of when you will see the update hit your phone. Users can manually check for the over the air update (OTA) by going to their device’s settings/General/About Phone/Software Update, or if you prefer the wired way, you can plug your device into your computer and fire up Samsung Kies to do the update. The new software version is I9295XXUCNE5 and will appear on your device if the update gets pushed to you.

No word on if this is the same update that was pulled from AT&T devices, but I highly doubt that it is, what a mess that would be.  Hopefully, you will see the update soon and experience the great improvements in Android 4.4.2 right on your Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Let us know in the comments below when you get the update on your device!
