The ultimate X-Men ensemble fights a war for the survival of the species across two time periods in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. The beloved characters from the original "X-Men" film trilogy join forces with their younger selves from the past, "X-Men: First Class," in order to change a major historical event and fight in an epic battle that could save our future.

The best X-Men movie to date. This film blends the First Class prequel/reboot and the original trilogy very efficiently and brings us a sci-fi action film that is hard not to leave cheering and/or, at the very least, smiling after the ending comes along (even the end-credits scene too). It has all the action, special effects, new and old mutant characters, and intriguing plot-lines you could ask for. It feels very focused and the best thing is that it brings back director Bryan Singer who injects the right amount of emotion and heart into the beloved franchise that he started.

It isn't the first superhero sequel of the summer, but with its massive ensemble cast and time-traveling storyline, X-Men: Days of Future Past might be the most epic. Now that the franchise's seventh installment has hit theaters with a bang, we've updated last week's list to include it, along with a look back at where the franchise has been and how well it's performed with critics. Witness the 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' in the latest trailer

Summer movie season is upon us, and Hollywood studios are gearing up to release their biggest, flashiest, and most exciting films of the year over the next several months. High on that list is Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel to 2011's well-received Rise of the Planet of the Apes. Cloverfield director Matt Reeves is at the helm this time, and that's good news for anyone looking to see the tense and thrilling beginnings of the war between man and ape. A short first trailer debuted late last year, and a new one is premiering today. The film will open in theaters July 11th.

There's a formulaic element to the plot which offers few surprises but the film is mostly a crowd pleaser ...straddles the genre encompassing its food specialist nature with themes of the father son relationship and road trip adventure. The film is heaven for food porn enthusiasts, with its lovingly shot montages of sautéed veggies, juicy grilled meats and gooey melted cheeses. And it is funny, lighthearted movie that leaves you satisfied, if craving a bit more for those background characters.

Narrated by Patricia Clarkson (who could read the phonebook aloud and we’d buy a ticket), Kates’s film tracks the seminal moments in the life of one of the twentieth century’s most influential critics and feminist icons. 

What to watch if you’re a fan of youth adrift, with a side of illegal substances: PALO ALTO 

Adapted by Gia Coppola—the granddaughter of Francis Ford Coppola and niece of Sofia Coppola—from James Franco’s debut short story collection of the same name, this is the story of young people with a knack for attracting trouble. Like the director herself, Coppola’s debut (she also adapted Franco’s book Palo Alto for the screen) stars several second generation Hollywood stars on the rise, from Emma Roberts to Jack Kilmer, along with established names like James Franco and Val (father of Jack) Kilmer. 

What to watch if you want to feel like you’re seeing a Broadway play (alternately, what to watch if you like controversy before the opening credits roll): VENUS IN FUR 

There’s always more than what’s on screen to consider when Roman Polanski directs a new film. The filmmaker, who’s still in exile in Europe, is a talented if extremely polarizing director. His latest, an adaptation of David Ives’s 2010 Tony Award-winning play, is drawing comparisons to his first feature, 1962’s Knife in the Water, for its sexual and psychological tension. This time around, French stars—one of whom happens to be Polanski’s real-life wife—Matthieu Almaric and Emmanuelle Seigner play a theater director and his muse, respectively, who blur the lines between the professional and the personal while rehearsing for a new stage production. 

What to watch if you love the French: BRIGHT DAYS AHEAD and THE KIDNAPPING OF MICHEL HOUELLEBECQ 

If Seigner and Almaric in Venus whetted your appetite for all things French, you’d be wise to check out Marion Vernoux’s Bright Days Ahead (based on Fanny Chesnel’s novel (A Young Girl with the Gray Hair), a drama centered on the love affair of an older woman (Fanny Ardant) and her much-younger teacher (Laurent Lafitte), as well as Guillaume Nicloux’s comedy, The Kidnapping of Michel Hoellebecq (featuring the same Monsieur Hoellebecq in a starring role). Bright finds Ardant, a longtime favorite of the French screen, tested when she falls for her young computer teacher and must decide how to change a life led to please other people. Kidnapping takes real events—author Michel Hoellebecq really did disappear during his book tour—and turns them into fiction, imagining what would have happened if the reclusive author had in fact been kidnapped. 

What to watch if you want to spur a conversation about the environment (or domestic terrorism): NIGHT MOVES 

From director Kelly Reichardt (Meek’s Cutoff, Wendy & Lucy), this drama puts the battle over the environment front and center as three activists (Jesse Eisenberg, Dakota Fanning, and Peter Sarsgaard) plan and execute the bombing of a dam in Oregon. Taut, dark, and topical, Reichardt’s film showcases three strong performances (Fanning also shines in the adaptation of Laura Lippman’s Every Secret Thing, another festival film) and subject matter that grows more relevant by the day. 

What to watch if you’re in the mood for a non-Hollywood romance: THE ONE I LOVE and LOVE IS STRANGE 

To give away the central conceit of Charlie McDowell’s The One I Love, starring Elisabeth Moss and Mark Duplass, would be cheating. But know that it’s about a married couple who, in an attempt to save their failing relationship, end up at couples retreat and are confronted with the ultimate head-trip. Moss, of Mad Men fame, and Duplass, a triple threat actor/writer/director most recently seen as the self-righteous midwife on The Mindy Project, bring a special chemistry to the screen in this twist on the typical romcom. And in another iteration of the classic love story, Ira Sachs’s Love is Strange finds a longterm couple (John Lithgow and Alfred Molina) dealing with the consequences of marriage on their own relationship and their relationships with friends, family, and employers. We need more films like this, especially with such stellar casts. 

What to watch to remind yourself your childhood probably wasn’t that bad: EVERY SECRET THING 

Adapted from Laura Lippman’s novel of the same name by Nicole Holofcener (Enough Said) and directed by Amy Berg (West of Memphis), this is the haunting story of two girls (Dakota Fanning and Danielle Macdonald) who committed a horrific crime as children and now, seven years later, are released back into the community. Lippman’s novel, her first of what would become several stand-alones following her multi-book Tess Monaghan series, won the Anthony and Barry awards for Best Mystery and Best Novel, respectively, in 2003. Berg, who’s accustomed to grim subject matter, is the perfect choice to direct a film about the kind of crime no one wants to talk about.

Principal photography commenced in April 2013 in Los Angeles, California before moving to Washington, D.C. and Cleveland, Ohio. Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiered in Los Angeles on March 13, 2014. The Top Box Office--Noah

Noah is a 2014 American epic biblical-inspired film directed by Darren Aronofsky, written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel, and loosely based on the story of Noah's Ark. The film stars Russell Crowe as Noah along with Jennifer Connelly, Ray Winstone, Emma Watson, Logan Lerman, Anthony Hopkins, and Douglas Booth. It was released in North American theaters on March 28, 2014 in 2-D and IMAX while several countries will also release a version of the film converted to 3-D and IMAX 3D. And it's Box Office is $43.7M at the top. 

I loved it. The Watcher's were pretty sweet, who is my favorite of the movie! Russell Crowe stars as Noah in the film inspired by the epic story of courage, sacrifice and hope.

Good news for us! Captain America: The Winter Soldier will arrival at Apr 4, 2014.

Captain America is directed By Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.  And with Marvel's upcoming superhero sequel Captain America: The Winter Soldier, they're about to demonstrate the wisdom of that advice yet again. Great news for Fast & Furious fans！

A magazine article about real-life car racing gangs for Vibe becomes this fast-paced automotive thriller from director Rob Cohen-The Fast and the Furious which is good and I am a fan!

The seventh installment of the wildly popular film franchise is scheduled to resume shooting in April, nearly five months after the tragic passing of actor Paul Walker.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, cameras will start rolling once again on or near Apr. 1 in Atlanta, with the shoot slated to last from six to eight weeks.
In December, Universal Pictures confirmed that Walker will appear in Fast & Furious 7, which is slated to be released on April 10, 2015. Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, will apparently retire and not be killed off.

The studio was forced to delay the movie's premiere date in order to complete a massive script rewrite in the wake of Walker's death in November 2013.
Fast & Furious 7 was in production when Walker was killed in a car crash and over 60 percent of the film had already been shot.

After Walker's passing, Universal released a statement saying it is "our responsibility to shut down production on Fast & Furious 7 for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise."

Meanwhile, Brick Mansions, the last movie that Walker completed before his death, will arrive in theaters on April 25.
