Samsung's virtual reality glasses could further immerse you into TouchWiz

Ready for the next big thing? It's most likely shaping up to be virtual and augmented reality. We have players like Google working on Glass and Facebook now working with Oculus. Not to be left alone, Samsung is reportedly making a virtual reality headset to be used with their phones and tablets.

Engadget reports that Samsung's mobile division is working on a virtual reality

headset that will be announced later this year. The South Korean company hopes to beat Facebook's Oculus Rift and other players to market.

This product is set to compete with the Oculus Rift and not Google Glass. We reported earlier this month that Samsung was also interested in going after Glass with their own 'Gear Glass' wearable for late 2014.

Instead, this new device rumored will be a virtual reality headset. It'll have an OLED screen that's as good or better than the one found on the Oculus Rift dev kit. No information is known at this time on how it will connect to your phone or tablet, but a wired connection is probable.

Samsung not only hopes to beat competitors to market, but will also aim to enter in at a lower price point. Samsung's operating system, Tizen, will reportedly not power this virtual reality headset.

Preparations: You must have the subtitles you want add to the movie. If you have no, you can download the subtitle of your preferred language from the Internet. For your reference, the efficient search string is "movie name + the language you want + subtitle". As there are multiple incompatible subtitle file formats, make sure you download the right one with .srt format or you can convert whatever format to .srt. 

1: Clicking "Source" tab to import movie files. Add the name and save path of your destination file. 

2: Click the "Subtitles" button, and then hit "Import SRT" to add the subtitle file you download. Repeating the process you can add more than one subtitle to the source video file. 



Tip: If you would like to attach subtitles to a movie file as hard subtitles, you can check the "Forced Only" box. 

3: Click "Preview" tab to see if the subtitle sync with the video content. 

4: Choose the output format in the right panel, and then hit the "Start" button to start attaching the subtitle to the movie file.

Subtitles exist in two forms; open subtitles are 'open to all' and cannot be turned off by the viewer; closed subtitles are designed for a certain group of viewers, and can usually be turned on/off or selected by the viewer - examples being teletext pages, US Closed captions (608/708), DVB Bitmap subtitles, DVD/Blu-ray subtitles. 

While distributing content, subtitles can appear in one of 3 types:

• Hard (also known as hardsubs or open subtitles). The subtitle text is irreversibly merged in original video frames, and so no special equipment or software is required for playback. Hence, very complex transition effects and animation can be implemented, such as karaoke song lyrics using various colors, fonts, sizes, animation (like a bouncing ball) etc. to follow the lyrics. However, these subtitles cannot be turned off unless the original video is also included in the distribution as they are now part of the original frame, and thus it is impossible to have several variants of subtitling, such as in multiple languages.
  
• Prerendered (also known as closed) subtitles are separate video frames that are overlaid on the original video stream while playing. Prerendered subtitles are used on DVD and Blu-ray (though they are contained in the same file as the video stream). It is possible to turn them off or have multiple language subtitles and switch among them, but the player has to support such subtitles to display them. Also, subtitles are usually encoded as images with minimal bitrate and number of colors; they usually lack anti-aliased font rasterization. Also, changing such subtitles is hard, but special OCR software, such as SubRip exists to convert such subtitles to "soft" ones.
  
• Soft (also known as softsubs or closed subtitles) are separate instructions, usually a specially marked up text with time stamps to be displayed during playback. It requires player support and, moreover, there are multiple incompatible (but usually reciprocally convertible) subtitle file formats. Softsubs are relatively easy to create and change, and thus are frequently used for fansubs. Text rendering quality can vary depending on the player, but is generally higher than prerendered subtitles. Also, some formats introduce text encoding troubles for the end-user, especially if very different languages are used simultaneously (for example, Latin and Asian scripts).

In other categorization, digital video subtitles are sometimes called internal, if they are embedded in a single video file container along with video and audio streams, and external if they are distributed as separate file (that is less convenient, but it is easier to edit/change such file).

Even if the Galaxy S5 Prime turns out to be a dud, Samsung's next S-Pen phablet hopefully won't. The upcoming Galaxy Note 4 is now believed to sport a 2K resolution display fitted into a 5.7-inch screen.

This info about the display is interesting on two grounds. First is that, of course, it will have a QHD display. That's a resolution of at least 2560x1440 pixels, the very same that the LG G3 and the Galaxy S5 Prime are said to be contending for. But the most interesting part is the size of the screen, which remains at 5.7 inches. That is the same size as the Galaxy Note 3 and would thus go somewhat against Samsung's trend of increasing screen sizes per generation. Not that it's a bad thing, since we'll end up with a screen with a higher pixel density and a relatively more handy size.

Not much else is known about the Galaxy Note 4. There is still some uncertainty whether it will be running on a Samsung Exynos hexa-core, which might be a downgrade from the usual octa-core, or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801. Chances are, it could be both, depending on the market, region, and features. Speaking of market differences, the model number listed in this leak for the Galaxy Note 4 is a G910, with the last digit left for identifying the processor or carrier variant.

Even if the Galaxy Note 4 did come with a QHD screen, it might be following behind the LG G3, depending on when Samsung announces the device. It usually unveils a new Galaxy Note phablet during the third quarter of the year, which would be a few months later than the G3's May reveal.

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is an inter-governmental forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia. It is a forum based on the recognition that there is close link between peace, security and stability in Asia and in the rest of the world.

The idea of convening the CICA was first proposed by Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev on 5 October 1992, at the 47th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

The proposal for convening the CICA was welcomed by a number of Asian States. During the next seven years, a series of meetings were held among the interested countries to discuss modalities of convening the CICA and draft basic documents. The first meeting of the CICA Ministers of Foreign Affairs was held in 14 September 1999 with participation of 15 Member States. The Declaration on Principles Guiding Relations between CICA Member States was adopted at this meeting. The first CICA summit was held on 4 June 2002 with participation of 16 Member States and Almaty Act, the charter of the CICA, was adopted. At the second meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs in 2004, CICA Catalogue of Confidence Building Measures and CICA Rules of Procedures were adopted. At the second CICA Summit in 2006, it was decided to admit Thailand and Republic of Korea as new members and to establish a permanent secretariat. At the third meeting of Ministers of Foreign Affairs in 2008, Jordan and UAE were admitted as new members.
At the third CICA Summit in 2010, Turkey assumed Chairmanship of CICA from the founding Chairman Kazakhstan. The third Summit also admitted Iraq and Vietnam as new members and adopted the CICA Convention. Bahrain and Cambodia joined CICA in 2011, and Bangladesh and Qatar joined in 2014, bringing the number of member states to 26.

Fourth Summit was held in Shanghai, China at 2014 on May 20.

SHANGHAI, May 20 -- China's hosting of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) summit will usher in a new stage of diplomacy.

As a founding member of the CICA, China has always been an active participant and builder of the regional cooperation mechanism, established in 1992 as a forum for dialogue and consultations.

China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi said earlier this year that the CICA is an important security forum. Together with the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in November, the two events are "key priorities for China's diplomacy this year", Wang said.

President Xi Jinping is scheduled to elaborate on China's diplomatic stance concerning Asian security at the summit.

Compared with the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, the CICA more focuses on such subjects as mutual and comprehensive security as well as cooperation to strengthen security. It also puts more emphasis on communication and trust.

Wednesday's CICA summit will be the largest ever, gathering 11 heads of state, one government head and 10 chiefs of international organizations including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.

"With its extensive and representative membership, the CICA is a dialogue forum on Asian security issues covering the largest number of countries," said Qu Xing, head of China Institute of International Studies.

Qu said the CICA provides an important opportunity for China to promote multilateral diplomacy at home, and for other member countries to strengthen communication.

"The Asian countries are in different development levels with different interest pursuits," said Huang Renwei, vice president of Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences. "The summit will help gather wisdom and consensus, and convey China's adherence to peaceful development to other Asian countries."

As the host, China will push forward with equal consultation and peaceful cooperation to handle disputes.

Apart from diplomacy at government levels, the CICA will offer an opportunity for Asians to deepen understanding and trust.

This will lay a solid foundation for a new Asia of peace, stability and cooperation.
